When we decided to move from Florida to Raleigh, North Carolina, we looked at a wide variety of homes on the PARADE OF HOMES tour and naturally the quality of workmanship of the various builders. We have built a number of custom homes from New Jersey to California to Florida and have been fortunate to have had all quality builders along the way.

We have built homes in four states with various builders. Our experience with Don Collins Builder, Inc. was by far the best ever experienced. His attention to detail, thoroughness and follow-up made it a pleasure to work with him.

We were looking for the house of our dreams, and we found it with Don Collins Builder, Inc. When we relocated from California to Raleigh, we had just 6 days to find the perfect house. After 5 days of an exhausting search, we found it! The house had everything we wanted: a spacious kitchen, all the formal rooms, 5 bedrooms and bathrooms, a huge master suite complete with a garden tub and picture window, a bonus room, walk-up attic, generous sized family room, and a beautiful outside deck. It truly was the perfect house for us!

We are thoroughly pleased with our new home. The attention to detail by each of the subcontractors, and the ability to communicate with Don Collins directly and effectively made building a pleasure instead of a chore. Don’s constant communications, gentle and, might I add, patient manner were huge parts of the building process. He and his wife have been a pleasure to work with and get to know.

Three years ago, we moved back to Raleigh after being away for almost sixteen years. While shopping for a new home, we came across houses with the Collins name on them.

There was something special about these houses that made them stand out from all the others. We had known of the Collins family and their reputation for quality-built custom homes from living in this area before. As we continued our search for the perfect house, we always came back to those with a Collins “for sale” sign.

Over the past year, my husband and I have had the opportunity to work with Don Collins and his team of professionals renovating our kitchen and two bathrooms. His father had built our home 16 years prior. We made it clear to Don that keeping the integrity of the house was a priority. Because of his extensive experience in the building industry, we knew the attention to detail would be excellent! From the get-go, any concerns regarding budgets and timelines were described in full detail to us.
