We are thoroughly pleased with our new home. The attention to detail by each of the subcontractors, and the ability to communicate with Don Collins directly and effectively made building a pleasure instead of a chore. Don’s constant communications, gentle and, might I add, patient manner were huge parts of the building process. He and his wife have been a pleasure to work with and get to know.
Working and building in Raleigh for quite some time has allowed Don to choose his subcontractors with experience, care, and precision. The quality of care given to each task was extraordinary. I was especially impressed with the wood trim details and the tile work performed by the respective contractors. The lighting, moldings and the interest of the floor plan have all been assets that were considered part of the base of the house — not extras.
Whenever we had a problem, I was sure it would be a deal and a negotiation, yet Don quietly handled the issue with ease and assurance. After the house was finished, we were not abandoned at the closing. When we have had any issues, I have called Don and he has taken care of them immediately. My husband and I are both grateful for the quality, genuine concerns, and overall process of building our home. However, more important than the process itself, we are grateful that we had such an excellent builder with which to work.
